If you don't know what the babies eat then I don't think you're ready just yet... You'll have to find the jars by yourself. You can use those big deli containers, or half liter soda bottles. Or even mason jars.
Are you sure you want to breed? You'll have to be able to answer all these questions and get all the needed supplies.

Wow… I've been researching for sometime and I'm aware of the cost. I know a few people who are already interested, and I will keep a few baby's for myself. I have several local pet stores willing to possibly trade baby's for in- store credit. If any baby's remain, I won't ship ( I've heard to many horror stories). I do know of people who have put bettas in r newspaper, and they have sold. I know baby's will eat microworms and baby brine shrimp. Your breeding tank where the baby's will live need to be eighty degrees, with no more than 3-4 inches of declorinated water. A heater, and filter r required and along with 2 extra tanks ( one 4 female and one for male after baby's can free swim)
How to keep jarred fry warm. Make sure that the water u put in is warm and de chlorinated. Then put plastic wrap over jar ( same 4 breeding tank) this keeps in humidity
I agree, breeding is a HUGE issue and the other thing you need to know is you have to cull the sick and deformed. Culling is killing all unfit babies. Also there is a risk of you r betta dying during breeding. Are you prepared to have your fish die to breed? Are you prepared to cull babies? You can't let the sick and weak live they must be culled, no way around it. Also what are your goals other than making more betta. That's not sound for betta breeding, we have plenty of homeless betta in this world. Also are you comfortable knowing most the betta you send to the stores will also go to bad homes and die horrid slow deaths?
I know that u HAVE to cull… it's said but it must b done. Yes, I am aware I may have a dead betta, but if breeding is successful, I will have more fish. I'm also aware about the stores. That's my last resort…
Alright I am all for breeding I think it is a great idea but first thing first please post a pic of the fish you plan on breeding so we can give input on their form and color matching. As for jars ask around start keeping large jam jars and other jars. I reccomend getting at least 50 although many first timers don't get that many their first time breeding. The male you are breeding I assume is a veil tail. Personallly I love vt but they are not as desirable because you can get one from almost any petstore breeders won't be buying them because they are less disirable. I would reccomend halfmoons because most people seeem to likle them. I will maybe give hmpk a try. As for fry food no they cannot eat flakes they need more protein and smaller food. For this you can buy cultures from many members I personally use banana worms, microworms, and egg yolk as fry first food. Try betta classifields many members will sell to you I would but I am in Canada. You also will need IAL for the water ask on here or order online.
