Exclamation Filter help! Urgent.

My girls keep getting sucked up the filter's tube. One died, and i QT'ED one in bad shape.

My filter is non adjustable. It came with tetra's 10 gallon starter kit.
10-15 quietflow or something.

I really don't want more girls to die, so i've turned it off.

What I did to prevent my loaches from getting sucked up was put an aquarium sponge over the intake. I cut it out a little bit, but not too much or else it would fall off and then just shoved the sponge onto the intake. It works really well!

Can try the end of a pantyhose where the toes are and tie it around the intake section to help lower the suction.

I'm having a hard time visioning what you are meaning.. the bottom intake tube should have a cover over it so the fish don't get sucked up.
If they are jumping into the outflow, you can use an aquarium sponge cut out and placed into the outflow (held on by a clean rubber band).

Poor fishies.. I have a girl who had to be moved as she kept jumping into the outflow section of a filter.

i have the same EXACT tank and filter. I have never had problems with the filter, but you could stuff sponge in it or put women's pantyhose over the top.

I put pantyhose in the hole itself. But now I'm noticing lint in the tank?

take out the pantyhose and use a filter sponge instead just to be safe?

I also use a sponge filter rather than pantyhose, seems to work better at keeping the water clean while stopping my fishes tails from getting sucked in and tattered. No sure what kind of filter that is but with mine I attatch the sponge using rubber bands.
