What is this slime?

Been wondering for a while, when performing weekly full water changes, I notice a slimy texture on the glass and ornaments, which I scrub off with a sponge (no soap). And thinking, what the hell is this?

I'm cycling a new tank, and I noticed the same. I do not know what it is, if it is harmful, or why it appears.

Perhaps some form of algae? In that case, it would be great, I have 2 otos that must be sick of eating wafers XD

Sounds like it's just the bacteria blooming on it.. natural to get the slime on objects and the walls.. just wipe off with an aquarium sponge if you wish it to be gone. No harm to the fish, just natural build up.

No, the otos will not eat it.. but I'm sure the otos are tired of wafers if that is all that is fed to them :) They require a ton of live plants.. most don't live long because they do not get enough to eat- they are small and continuously moving and need plenty of nutrition from live plants, fresh veggies and wafers :)

they ignore blanched zuchini, cucumber and lettuce Q_Q as for live plants, been thinking of it But right now I do not have the budget. Though I intend on a planted tank further on.
