Oasis flaring

Oasis has been flaring at nothing. He flares so hard, u can c his gills. Why?

If it is like your avatar he is flaring at his reflections but we need more info like tank size, and decorations.

At the time, I have a 1 gallon tank, (getting bigger Saturday!) and just has gravel and a few gem (non-reflecting, it said on bag)

Tank size:I think a 1 gallon ( until about Saturday)
Water changes: twice a week. ( Wednesday and Saturday or Sunday)
Temp:75-78
Food: at the time, BettaMin flakes and pellets (ran out of live bloodworms)
Decorations: None other than what are supposed to be non-reflective gems.

He is seeing reflection when he has more hiding spots he will most likely stop and remember most flakes are bad.
