Smile Veiltail Finnage standards

I've been a member of the site for quite a while now. I love it!

Anyways after much searching. I decided it would be best to just ask.

(not referencing a particular fish here)

What are the standards for good veiltail finnage? What is desired or considered good? Is it for the fins to be symmetrical in length?

The information from the holland betta show site was not helpful. http://www.hollandbettashow.com/bett...d/development/

Just looking for some answers.

Thank you

Jaclyn

At the moment, the IBC doesn't have a standard for veil tails.

That's what I gathered.

Any personal standards out there?

Personally I prefer VT to have small rays thus the fins becomes wavy when they swim. Firm finned VT aren't too attractive. But that's just me. I don't have any preferences for form other than big and wide dorsal. My favorite is the DT version - a specific very long diamond/kite like form plus all fins over lap.

This is the only model I've ever found for an ideal veiltail http://www.hollandbettashow.com/bett...tics-veiltail/

I'm still working on my veiltail standard. I've got an orange boy who I think is pretty close to ideal.
Wow, you're the first person in Alabama I've seen on here! Well, besides myself, of course. ;D
