my own betta is actually very curious when my hands are near the tank. :) with frequent human interaction, most fish dont get stressed at all when hands are in the tank. I have to chase my own out of the way when i'm working in the tank.

and if yor are interested in teaching a betta to swim into a cup. it is actually very easy.
using positive reinforcement. ie. feeding him goodies when he is cupped, encourages the behaviour. And lebron is right, Kuro is very excited about going in, because cup=food to him :)
