Is this normal for a VT?

My VT, Kaida's, Dorsal fin is really long and i've noticed that at the ends it sort of curls, but the fin isn't really clamped, none of his are but his Dorsal fin does look rather thin when he isn't flaring. I'm not sure if it's normal as I haven't really paid attention to the size of his fins... could someone help me please?

My VT's seem to do the same thing. I thought it was because he was in a too small, unheated container but they didn't unfurl once I upgraded him to a 10g heated & filtered tank. He swims normally, eats like a pig, gets excited to see me & is all over his tank so I don't worry about it.

The little bit I can see looks like he may be in the beginning stages of fin rot. Dose his tank with 1 tsp. aquarium salt for 10 days. Dissolve the salt first in a cup of tank water and slowly add it to his tank. Replace any salt that is removed during water changes (i.e. 1 gallon water change = 1 tsp. new salt).

Hard water will cause curling of the fins. There's really not much you can do about it. They probably won't uncurl if you put him in soft water. My girl's anal fin is a little curled because of our hard water, but it doesn't affect her behavior any, and I've been told it's better to keep them in the hard water than to burn them with ph down.

Oh cool :) I got him like this, but didn't think anything of it until now. It doesn't hurt him or anything though, right? He is very active, eats a lot and is in good cond. just his fin curls at the end :L

It doesn't look like fin rot to me personally and because I've had him for months and he hasn't changed idk but thanks :)

Oh, and the whites around his tail is part of his colour :) Not cotton tail :)

Yeah, if he hasn't gotten any worse since you've had and then he most likely doesn't have rot. Like stated above it's probably hard tap water then. If you can find some Indian almond leaf it can help soften the water gradually and maybe eventually help is fins straighten out.

Perry is a female so I don't know. I think it is maybe not normal.
