New Betta :)

Yesterday, I went to petsmart to get some things for our Lhasa Apso when I found this little beauty. I couldn't help myself. I don't have a name for him yet. Any ideas? He's black with red and black fins, and spots of blue on his body. His eyes are blue too. o:

He's in a 5 gallon filtered and heated hex tank, with two really small otos. They just swim around the bottom and leave him alone. I don't even know if he knows they're even there! He hasn't bothered them at all yet. :)

I only have two otos because for one, that's all I could afford at the time, and two, there is still plenty of room for them to be happy and for Mr. unnamed betta to be happy. I know the otos will get bigger and so will the betta, but I do plan on upgrading in a few months to a bigger tank, possibly a 25 gallon. I know what I'm doing when it comes to my fish, so I would like not to be lectured about how the tank is "overstocked" or the otos can't thrive and whatnot. This is just a temporary set up until after the holidays. :)

It's kind of hard to see him in this pic, but he looks like a cutie. His tank looks great too!

At the moment, the light bulb in the hood is blown, so I don't have any pictures where you can really see him or his colors. :( But he is really cute!
Little jerk started tail biting though. I would blame the otos, if I had ever even seen them go near him. They usually just keep to themselves, either sucking on the wall or the sand.

Right now, Mr Betta is swimming laps around his heater... xD He's swimming along the wall, going up, over the top of the heater, back down, under the heater, and back up again. It's been at least five minutes... I have no idea why he's doing it. Silly little thing.

Ugh!! My hood's light blew the other day too.. both of them. -_-

Maybe he's bored? Or he may just be stressed. Either way, I hope he stops soon :)

Here's some more pictures of him! I still don't have a name for him. Any suggestions?

The pictures don't really do him justice. Not without a light, at least.
