Urgent: How to baffle filter

With my Aqueon 10 Gallon Basic Kit, i got a filter meant for 10-15 gallons. The filter is too strong, even for my Bubs.

I tried baffling it with a water bottle, but Bubs almost got himself killed when I did.

So, are there are sort of cloths that I can use? Last thing I want is to wake up to a dead fish :/

ahhh see my problem is the intake. I already have the part of the filter that spews the batter baffled.

Unless the part where the spone was being used could work for me, only problem is I don'e have any sponge :/

EDIT:: After a week without changes, the ammonia is still at the same level as when I got it. Is it already beginning to cycle?

i used the SAME sponge thing to cover the filter just sewed it to size... use a more dense foam for even more baffling..

Would it be easier to put the 5 gallon filter in the 10 gallon and put Squirt over there?

you can use a stocking too... but does't baffle as much anything 'foamy' will do... even that scrubby stuff from a kitchen sponge in a pinch (not to rough though) anything.. with 'holes' and pliable.
