i finally did it & have ?

i was in pet store to get more plants & see what's new. was looking at male betas nothing caught my eye. i went around corner & there were the females,so i started looking in the back was my girl she caught my eye. none of the rest would do. she is on the white side with looks like red & blue in her fins.my ? is how do i acalmate her to her new tank? she is still in her cup with blue water.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Edit: Make sure the new water is conditioned. Float the cup in the tank water and make sure it is the same temperature, and slowly mix the water in the cup with the water in the tank, and then introduce her to the tank.

I usually replace the cup water gradually with the new tank water and never dump any of the cup water in the tank. I might be overly cautious but that's me... :)

While the cup is floating in the new tank, I use a turkey baster to remove old cup water and toss it out and add new tank water to the cup. I wait about 15-20 minutes in between each water replacement.

Eventually, all of the old water will be replaced with new tank water and then you can just tip her in to the tank.

she's in her tank checking it out she looks so little in her 5 gallons.i have lights out, but kitchen light is on so i can see her.

not very good with the camera. but if i do get picture i will update my aquarium log. she is doing good i have seen her eat so i'm guessing that is good.

eating readily is a sign of good health, but it's usually best to wait 24-48 hours after introduction to feed. the stress of the move can sometimes cause her digestive system to not function properly, which can lead to bloating, constipation, or in a worst case scenario, bowel impaction and eventually necrosis.

so should i not feed her tomorrow? can she go a day or two with out eating.very new with betas.
