A question about double tails?

A question about double tails, seeing as the internet I've found hasn't really given me a good answer.

What are the main characteristics of a double tail?
I've recently had to container two of my female Betta (rescue) and place them in a heated tank next to each other. They keep flaring at each other and it looks to me like their caudal fin is split. Like there is two. However, I haven't been able to see if it goes right to the body. Do double tail Betta's tails split right to the body, or..?

Someone may know better than me, but I really dont think that the split goes all the way to the body...i'd look at pictures on aquabid of their double tails. that might be able to help you better?

I've been looking and seen that some do and some don't. :) I'm pretty stoked to find that I actually have two double tails, as apparently they aren't as common. :) They're pretty. Today was the first time I got to see them flare and it was cool to see their actual tail shape, I initially thought they were PK.

DT bettas also generally have a broader dorsal base and a shorter body than non-DT bettas.

they usually have shorter, fatter bodies as well, like little fishbullets.
