Betta fish or other fish? At work.

Well my co-workers agree and they would like to have some type of fish at work. Our work area deals with Cellular phone for one of the major carriers. So we have people in and out all day and in a steady 74f office temp. I have my own work area in the back (With glass window) so I was wondering would it be best if I rescue a betta Petsmart or should I just get a different fish? None of them beside me know what to do, but I'll be teaching everyone of them.

Also would 5ish gallon be good enough? or Should I just get a 10 gallon? or smaller? Can't do daily water changes due to the store getting really busy at times.

Bigger and filter means less water changes but you will need a heater.

Sorry I forgot to mention i'll be getting those regardless of which fish I get.

Bettas will prefer tons of decorations also I would reccomend low light easy to care for live plants to help keep the tank clean. If you want you can even take the filter lid off and put things like Pothos, Peace Lilies, and Lucky Bamboo.

5 gallon is PERFECT!! heated around 76-82 degrease, if you get a betta it's best to get silk plant, or plastic with smooth edgings. Hard plastic can rip fins :) just keep doing your research!!!! XD

Live plants are best and some Marimo will reduce other algae chances too bloom also feeding different fish food brands helps with health.

I keep Bettas at work, i am using smaller 1.3 gallon tanks but i change the water weekly. The 5 gallon with a heater would be great!

MikMc for such a small tank it needs two changes a week if not three. You should never let a tank under five gallons sit for a week unless it's so heavily planted you can hardly ever see the fish.

Also a betta in those conditions would be wonderful. They are curious smart fish and with all they traffic it would have a blast watching people all day. I say go with a 10 gallon, less water changes and then you can cycle it as well.

lol! if a 1 gallon is planted so heavily you cant see the fish, you wont ever need to do a WC
lol! I've done it before :D
