Zoo Med Betta Log Issue.

Well.. for the past day Ive noticed a "film" of the surface of the water in my tank.. Not sure where it was coming from so decided to do a 50% water change and to check on the decor I had inside.. well while washing off the Log I noticed some staining on my fingers and on closer inspection noticed some of the paint or whatever it is on it has flaked/corroded off.. he doesn't sleep in it just uses it as a tunnel to swim in and out of.. but still .. I'm not happy that this happened.. usually zoo med has good products.. anyone else has had this issue??

ah well... gonna count it as a loss.. wasnt all that cheap either! lol

Anything "painted" even if for the aquarium, will chip and peel over time. Some items will just do so faster. I had the same issue. I used a toothbrush to gently scrub the slime away. It caused big flakes of paint to come off.

From now on I am going to get plain ceramic ornaments. Luckily for me though I like the simple look.

Had plans to go a bit more "natural" in materials for my second tank... will eventually do that for my current one too.. live and learn... lol

Dang it lol, I bought the Log not long ago too, and my betta loves it :/
