Thanks for all the great input! They are in a divided 10 gallon, so 5 gals each, so water quality isn't really an issue. One side has a filter, and it's packed with live plants :) Good to hear, but I'll probably stick half a vacation feeder in there just to feel better about leaving them alone! I hate not being able to have the light on for the plants that long (don't have automatic timer), they look droopy after a normal weekend. :(

Don't put a vacation feeder in. Bettas are surface feeders, so they won't go down and eat it anyway. It will only foul the water and make the water quality poorer. Bettas can easily go a week without eating.

I agree - just say NO to vacation feeders - the fish will be fine.

Some fish have been known to eat the entire vacation feeder in one sitting and gorge themselves to death!! Don't do it!!
