Which Pick-up Is Better

I've got a choice between a blue 1999 Ford F-150 with 20,000 miles, and an adobe 2006 Ford F-250 flat-bed with a grill guard. So which is better?

What is the truck going to be used for.....

I only drive Ford trucks and my 99 F-150 extended cab was a great truck and my 2000 F-150 4x4 ext cab is pretty great too and still going strong. neither had any issues-had a recall on the 99-so check and make sure that was fixed-it was something to do with the switch valve on the gas tank.

I am not going to really work the truck to hard, whichever I choose, but I will haul some stuff. I am leaning to the F-250.

Is that 20,000 as in twenty thousand or is it two hundred thousand miles? If It's really 20,000 actual original miles I would choose the 150. My 2001 Tacoma 4x4 has 23,000 on it, but that's only because I drive other cars in rotation. It's very seldom that a car that old has that low of miles. The grill guard is truck jewelry, and has nothing to do with being reliable. On average a flat bed truck can have some pretty hard miles put on it.And as far as better mileage, i would assusme that the 150 would. Check out the spects. via internet, You'll be able to see any recalls and other red flags. It is always a good idea to have the truck checked out by a mechanic, it is real easy to rip someone off.

Um I have a F-250 and it's diesel, really it drives a little bumpy unless you're hauling a lot or towing something. Honostly if you're going for gas mileage don't go with a truck but of the two of course the F-150 is going to get better mileage.

If you're not going to really haul or tow something heavy go with the F-150 because the F-250 is a workhorse and probably overkill. Plus the 250s tank is huge and with diesel I can easily drop $60 filling it.
