Is it bad to take out the gravel and wash it everytime you do 100% change?

It's a 0.5 gallon

If the tank is cycled or cycling, then yes. If it's not, then no. If the tank has a filter, don't do 100% changes. That will kill all the BB in the gravel and water needed for the cycle.

EDIT: That's pretty small... No filter then I guess, keep up with those changes and I hope you can upgrade soon.

No.. its not being filtered and it has never been cycled. I made a post before about cloudy water. So I was wondering if taking out and rinsing the gravel every week was the culprit.

It is small, but my fish swims around and what not. It's my first betta, so.. I didn't know a small tank like that would be bad. I have been looking at other tanks since I brought him home and realized mine was too small.

No that wouldn't be why. In a tank that small you need to rinse everything when you do a water change. The cloudy water is usually just a bacteria thing. Ugly but not harmful. How often do you do water changes? If you upgrade to a ten dollar one gallon that would be a decent improvement until you can get higher if you want to. I personally keep most of my males in one gallons. I know it isn't the norm but with proper water changes they can be just fine.

I do them every Friday and I rinse everything. I just HATE the cloudy water. I feel like its harmful to my fish. I am buying a 3.5 gallon tank. Just haven't had time to go out and get it. Busy busy busy.
