green filter media?

My filter media has been turning a really dark green color. I tested all my levels in my tank and everything's normal. Is it possible that there could be algae growing because of the light being on during the day? I'm just curious what might be causing this.

If it's algae then I wouldn't worry about it.. what filter is it? if it came with the tank can you find it online and link it? Might have a cheap work around but it doesn't work with all filters...
