Cannibal Girls

I was feeding my sorority today, and like usual I count my ladies to make sure they are all accounted for and looking healthy. Well I counted 1..2..3..4..5..6..7........ Where's Freya? I searched around the tank but couldn't find her. Then I looked real close behind one of the "caves" and there she was or what was left of her. The other girls had eaten her up. I'm not sure if she died or that they ganged up on her.

Was she acting weird at all? Did she have lots of missing fins before she died like they had been picking on her? Usually they will eat a fish that has died, any fish will unless you catch the body quick enough.

I had girls that got picked on at first and I could catch it on time by noticing the behavior. If you didn't notice her attitude changing or anything she likely died of natural causes and they ate at her. It sucks. I'm sorry.

If that is your sorority in your avatar I would recommend more and taller plants. That could create and issue too if they see each other too much.

She wasn't sluggy really. But she was the least dominant girl in it. I want to get more floating plants, but I'm tight on money right now blegh.

Whether the other girls killed her or not. A dead fish is just another meal to them. It's sad, but true. Sorry you lost your little one, I know that's the kind of thing I worry about.

I'm so sorry. It's hard to lose a fish; especially when it's unexpected.

How long did you have her? Maybe she was old..

I got her only about 2 or 3 months ago. She couldn't have been a year yet. She was one of my special ladies because I bought her from a breeder in FL.
