I don't know what's wrong with him :(

For the past week my fish has been laying n the bottom of the tank, and a few times I thought he was dead. He eats like he always has, but the res of his behavior is completely different.

I keep his tank nice and warm (he is in a 1 1/2 gall), he has a live plant, and smooth rocks. I always condition the water, and test its ph.

On the top of his head he has this white filmy slime. Sometiems it looks fuzzy (like a bacterial infection) but other times it doesn't. It also looks like some of his scales have completely lost color. I thought about giving his some medicine for a bacterial infection, but I'm still not completely sure what is wrong. The underside of his chin area is also very pale and his fins are clamped.

Today I completely cleaned evrything. I emptied out the tank, boiled the rocks, and added new water (I let it sit overnight, then started warming it up for him.) Any ideas? I would add a picture, but it doesn't even come up on the camera.

Did you dechloranitad it? What is his care? Sounds like velvet.

I checked him for velvet already with a flashlight, and he doesn't have that... no gold tint or mist :/ I think I'm just going to try teating him with a fungus eliminator and see where that takes us. Might as well give it a go :/

Some bettas do really bad at 2 years of age, some at later ages like 4 years. However, unless you bred it you wouldn't know his history. Probably best to feed him live food and PWC until conditions improve. Adding salt might help with the partial water changes.
