Long Distance By Car -- Container?

Hello all,

Odysseus and I will be leaving shortly for a 4-5 day car journey to our new home. I have 12 hour heat packs to keep him warm during the day, and I plan to put him in his 1 gallon QT with heater at night in the hotel rooms.

My question is should I use the 5/8 gallon container or the 1 gallon container? They are both about a foot long and 4 inches wide. The smaller container is about 5 in high and the bigger one is about 8 in high. He is very active and gets very upset when I put him in his cup for water changes.

I want to minimize his stress.

He should be okay for the most part with the heat packs and his 1 gallon for the night but he could get a little stressed out. There really isn't a way around it I guess. I'm sure he will be fine because bettas can go through shipping from Thailand and places like so okay.

If you're using fish bags during the day, you might consider floating them in the heated tank overnight, rather than catching him up and rebagging him everyday and then acclimating him all over again every night.

Change the bag water with a baster and use plenty of Prime.
