Why is his color changing?

Before

Now

Why is there suddenly a pale spot on his topline?

Is he a marble? If he is that's normal.

I never knew he was a marble but I did kinda hope that he was! I've only had him about three or four months.

You can purchase a fantastic marble betta with a gorgeous high contrast pattern, and within a month of having him he might keep "marbling out" until he is completely colorless (cellophane), darken until he is solid-colored (unmarble), or even change pattern and color until he looks like an entirely different fish! He might continue to morph and change his entire life; frustrating for some and provocative for others who may enjoy watching their betta morph.

Pretty spiffy, huh?

That is cool! Is marbling a sign of good health, or do they do that anyways?

Ive got a female that has changed constantly since I have had her. She started out cellopane with a few dots and now has different colors on all her fins. She went almost black when I bred her last week. Kind Cool imo that betta can do this. I believe its a sign of maturity and health.

That's crazy! Well I love this guy but I don't think the name Stars will fit if he loses all of his color. :)
