It's my art name. I used to paint and sell portrait horses on models. As in, someone would commission me to paint their horse's likeness on a model sculpture. I wanted to use a name other than my personal one for selling transactions and one day while working on a signature small enough to fit on a little horse and not be intrusive, the name popped into my head. And since I was specializing in horse portraits, the farm part was added.
This was back in 1996, and even though I moved on from horse portraits (although I do a few occasionally still) I kept it as my "business" name since I've worked on wildlife photography and submitted a few to different places.
Though, I've done Koi portraits and even painted my mother's favorite Koi onto a dark blue Christmas ornament for her. I'd love to move on to working on Betta portraits and am currently searching for the proper paints to put Oil on a glass ornament for my tree. Betta are so lovely I bet it would be both fun and a challenge to paint their fins true to the fish!
