best heater for a 5 gallon tank

Hi! I have a fluval chi cycling as we speak. Fred was sitting by the bottom of his half gallon --but still active..just sleeping there sort of. When I called him, he swam up eagerly. I checked the temp and it was 77.4, it usually stays about 78.9.
77.4 is too cold for my comfort. I'd like to get a heater for the 5gal just to ensure that the temperature will stay constant.

What's the best heater for my 5gal? It can't be too big :) preferably one that I can pick up at petco.

There are tons of very small ones you can get although some aren't too adjustable.

I have this for one of my tanks that's housing a baby pleco. It seems like it's doing a great job and I love Aqueon. Not necessarily the cheapest thing but you're going for long term I assume so it's worth the investment.

Awesome, thanks! The 5gal is pretty small but at least I have an idea now of what to get. Do the heaters with the circle dial stay consistent?

I have the Elite adjustable 50 watt for me tank and its going great ! I got mine on Amazon they have the best prices I can find.

I use a Fluval E-Series 50 watt heater.

I used to have a Fluval M-Series, but my betta would see a mild reflection on the chrome like coloration in the glass of it and fight it day end and day out! That's why I got the E. It also has a thermostat that lights up which was nice.

77.4 F is not bad at all for a betta. I like to keep my bettas at 78-80F. They seem to enjoy the heat though.

My recommendation might not be all that cheap though. I really only use cheap heaters in my temporary QT tanks. I've never seen these at Petco - I only ever see their brand, tetra, or aqueon. I use the smallest aqueon in my bookshelf tank (6.6G).

I'm using the 50 watt Eheim Jager with the adjustable dial that can also be calibrated depending on tank size. It's awesome. Super consistent. I have a 5.5 gal
