You should be feeding the baby high-quality foods like New Life Spectrum For Fry or Hikari Little Bites. As some said, they need to be fed 3-4 times a day. Just try to get a better food and up the temperature to 80-82. Fish Meal is grounded up dried fish.

Unfortunately with these babies you sometimes just need to feed anything you have on hand in order for it to be small enough for them to eat. That being said, they need HIGH protein, and not processed protein is better than any pellet or flake. The freeze dried bloodworms should not be fed at all right now. They have hardly any nutrition despite what the bottle might say. If you do continue to feed the freeze dried and low quality flake food do so knowing you might stunt the growth of your fish.

If you can't get live, get frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp (both is best!). Then either feed that for two meals and the flake for the third, or get a supplement like Vita-chem and feed the frozen for all meals. Good luck!

But, FD foods do have a lot of nutrition. The drying process just makes people believe there aren't any nutritional benefits from them.

In some cases FD is is better because the protein is not removed.

Any pellet will do if the betta eat it. As always, I highly recommend NLS. However, from a breeder's perspective, I usually feed live/frozen food to grow them, and pellets after they are adults. One of betta favorites are mosquito larvae and bloodworms, but you should keep in mind of the varieties as that is key to healthy bettas.

Actually it has to start with certain ingrdants. If the first I gradient is foreign to you or is plant matter don't feed it. Best is shrimp or something non mysterious you can feed it. Most animal foods are badly built.
