Hello there! I'm a newbie (if you can't tell). Other than two goldfish that I had as a youngster that died after a few days, I've never had a fish before. I was planning to get a betta. So, today I saw in an ad these holiday bowls at Petsmart, so I went with the intention of buying one for myself and my little sister. However, my mom accidentally took me to Petco (who knew there was a difference?) and when I inquired about the bowls, the person working there told me that that was an ad for Petco, and that Bettas require at least a 5 gallon tank, and that perhaps I should do research before purchasing. My mom wanted to think more about it.
So, I'm home now, trying to do research on tanks. That'll go on a different post XD

Yeah.... So get to it lol jk. Most people on this forum agrees that 2 gallons and up is most suitable for one betta. "Bowls are for soup!" If keeping minimal amount of bettas, I would suggest a 5 gallon tank to avoid doing more water changes.

OMG! A competent Petco employee! Make that store your go to place for fish supplies cuz it's a keeper! Right now they are having a 3 day sale on the betta bow tanks 2.5 gal and 5 gal half price.

Thanks! And I guess that is pretty shocking. The tanks looked pretty nice, too. They were clean, and none of them had any dead fish in them.
