Best Tank Divider??

I want to divide my 5gl tank.. whats the best divider to buy??
preferably black??

DIY dividers are said to be better by some of the posters in this forum. It's quite easy to do, but might require some searching for the materials.

Yep, the DIY are easiest and cheapest. A few tips: Lightly sand the flat backs of the poster framing and make sure you clean the surface with alcohol first. Search around and you can find black craft mesh otherwise you can spray paint clear mesh. Another tip for that...lightly sand the craft mesh so the paint doesn't flake off.

If you are handy and have bigger tanks acrylic is the only way to go. Buy a sheet from the local home store, score it to size, snap it, drill holes(little tip here-drill through masking tape/remove the tape afterwards). FAR more forgiving that trying to get glass to cooperate IMO. You can make it snug enough to not need silicone or you can silicone both edges once it's in.

I did just buy some plexiglass from the store today to make a cover for a smaller tank I have but its clear.... and I ALSO bought the craft store mesh and plastic framing to make it more rigid!!! LOL!! oh dear.. I like the acrylic idea tho... but only saw clear or that clear blueish color..

I don't think it matters that the acrylic is clear. They usually settle down in a day or so even if they can see each other. Barracks are made of clear acrylic...
