25w heater for a 10 gallon?

I normally keep 50w heaters in my 10 gallons, but somehow this slipped my mind yesterday and I ended up buying a submersible 25w top fin. It's only rated for a 5 gallon. This is an adjustable heater up to 93* and I do have thermometers in all of my tanks.

Basically my questions are -
are top fin heaters okay? I know theres alot of complaints about certain heaters, dont know if this is one of them.
will a 25w be too little for my 10 gallon since its rated for only 5.
and if I do end up having to turn it up too high will it cause any problems such as heater breaking faster or anything?

From what I heard on here, they not that bad. But 25W would not be enough for a 10 Gallon IMO, and you will stress the heater cause it will be on more often.

yeah thats what I figured, i'll probably just exchange it monday or something. for some reason it completely slipped my mind that 50w is what I needed.

I'm really tempted to try and see if it would be okay at the same time though, I know I have a 100w (different brand) in my 26 and its too powerful, so maybe a 25w in a 10 would be okay?
