Hey there,

checked out your video, if you look at your betta from above are his scales sticking out like a pinecone? If so it could be dropsy but have a look and let be know.

Did you overfeed him by any chance? How much you feed him? How long he is bloated like that ?
How long you have him?
How big is his tank and how much and how often you change his water?
Do you think he can be constipated? When is last time you saw his poop?

He can be constipated. If you didn't see his poo for long time then it might be the reason.
It can be tumor or it can be internal parasites.

To rule out internal parasites check out his poop. If it white , clear, stringy, wormy color then it might be internal parasites.

Hey there,

Sometimes scale protrusion can be difficult to see but if he does not have it then that is definitely a good thing!!! If it is not dropsy all I can think is maybe he is constipated? You could try feeding him small pieces of raw pea which may help. Sometimes when they get dropsy they swell first and get scale protrusion a few days later so you might have to watch for that too. I am sorry but apart from that I cannot think to suggest anything else except if you have aquarium salt you could add the correct amount to his tank or alternatively you could try giving him an epson salt bath but you may have to check what strength to make it as I cannot remember, sorry. Good luck with him and let me know how he goes

I just saw this for the first time today... his tank is a 29 gal tank, he has no other fish in his tank.could he be bloated?
as for his poop? I cant see if its white or not..
I do water changes often but im also having a issue getting my gravel vacuum to work well. and I do have a habit of over feeding.

then fast him for 2-3 days use epsom salts if it doesn't work, also feed him less. A betta's stomach is no bigger than his eye.

it's 1 tsp per gallon on epsom salts, it can be used until swollen belly is gone :)
