Normal?

So after analyzing Starburst, I noticed he has a weird red outline to his body, as if they were veins.

I can somewhat see some "veins" along the back end of his body.

Is this normal?

I've noticed that on some bettas in stores. especially the light colored and transparent ones. Yes I do believe those are the betas' major veins/arteries.

ahh okay.
I just wanted to make sure it wasn't some kind of disease.

The only other possibility I can think of is severe septicemia (blood poisoning), but you would know if it was that because he'd be on his deathbed. If he's acting fine then it is arteries.

Yea, he has a sorta see through body (I can see the shadow of his organs).
I think I prefer solid colored fish xD

I have seen those red lines on the light-white Halfmoons in the lps. And some apricot colored ones. I don't think I would buy one with visible veins but that's me and I like things a certain way. All fish deserve to be loved though lol (light colored bettas like the bull terriers of the fish world to me)
I would suspect blood poisoning would affect his behavior so hopefully it's just his main veins!

I didn't notice his veins until I took him out of the tank.

Slightly wishing I had gotten the salamander HMPK that was there, but then again, I'm sure i'll warm up to Starburst.
He has a very boring personality and doesn't do much. Even flaring is little to none.

Lol, well you never know he could turn out to be an interesting little fella. I know one of the bettas I got just layed down on the gravel the first day, but when I woke up the next he was up and about looking prettier than the day before.
