Flaring

My betta seems to be flaring every now and then in his tank. It started to happen after I put a mirror close to the tank to make him flare. After that he has been doing it every now and then everyday v__v How can I make him stop?

Thanks!

If you look in my album, I got a picture of the whole tank. Still the same.

The tank looks reflective. The decoration look sharp. Is your Betta after the Avatar?

It kind of does, I'm replacing the fake plants with live ones. Waiting for it to come in. I guess it is. My girlfriend named him that lol.

He might lol. He stops after I go near the tank lmao. He didn't do it till I put my gf mirror up to the tank to see him flare.

My guy does it sometimes too. he'll flare up and parade himself across the length of the tank, showing off and grabbing attention. I think so long as they aren't flaring their gills as well (like they will at a reflection or other betta) they're just stretching and showing off a little. My guy does it when he's happy.

Too much flaring can damage fins.
