Female Pineapple VT

My red female VT, Ruby, died a few weeks ago so I found this little one and I plan on breeding her to my orange male, Flash. He needs to recover first because somehow he got to the other side of the divided tank and fought with Sunkist. He looks really bad but is doing fine.

New girl.

I miss Ruby so here's an old picture of her.

The new girl's color is almost similar to Sunkist's color.

Found theses old pictures of him.

If anyone can answer this question.
When breeding a Pineapple betta, will the fry automatically have this coloring or is it something to work for through generations of breeding like a dalmatian betta? I'm just wondering how the fry will turn out.
