3 Gal Cube...filter recommendation please :)

Hi Everyone

I have my male CT is a Tetra 3 Gallon cube tank which came with the whisper 3i filter. I want to upgrade to a better filter system. I tried the Deep Blue Biomaxx Nano, but need to buy new filter media after Hurricane Sandy interfered with my cycle. I cant find new media for this filter anywhere. Not even my LFS has replacment media, yet they sell the filter.

So I'm considering a new filter altogether. I would prefer a 3 stage filter if possible (mechanical, chemical, & biological). I'm pretty certain that all the Whisper 3i can accomplish is mechanical and chemical.....failing on the most important biological :(

Any recommendations??

Hi George, you can make your own filter media. On top of that, 3 gallon is just enough room for the fish alone; a filter will probably stress the fish more than keep it healthy. Just be sure to do water changes and your fish will be fine. It saves money and keeps fish stress free, I don't see what's wrong with that.
