Most people say they overfeed. I would consider them useless for vacation feeding because I know my fish can handle a week without food better then toxic water.

Speaking of useless items I found this while looking for 5g empty tanks to make sumps from. It's only 2.3 gallon total for 5 Bettas
I could see using to to photograph Bettas but some of the reviews are using it for permanent living spaces.

Most of the complains I've seen are from community tank owners. I wouldn't use it in my community because recommended feeding never fits actual feeding. I would guess each of these auto feeders are based off recommended feeding. If you had Danios in the tank they would camp it then eat all the food leaving their tank mates starving.
