Worried about ?tumor?

Size: 61.4 KBHey guys. So how worried do I need to be with this "tumor"? It has gotten larger since I've had him. Sometimes he seems active and then sometimes I catch him at the bottom of the tank. One morning I thought he had passed away. I tapped the aquarium several, several times before he came out of his cave. Could he be getting some age on him??

Right now, as I'm typing this, he is all over the place -- then again I did change his settings around a little and tried a new baffle for his filter.

Info:
Normal readings
Adequate water changes, +/- kids getting sick or a very hectic day.

I'm not a pro at fish diseases but it actually looks to be like popeye? I really honestly have no clue how to treat popeye. Is his tank heated? Does he have tank mates? What size is his tank?

NOTE: It may be a tumor, just by the way the pics are taken, it looks more like he has a swollen eye, which is a sign for popeye.

How old is he? I agree, it does look like it's part of his eye. Oldfishlady would be a great person to talk to about popeye and tumors. You can private message her if need be.

I will have to send her a message. I agree it's hard to tell from the pics but the tumor is right behind his eye.

Oh and BTW, he's in a 5 gal heated and filtered tank. He has a new baffle on his filter and this tank is normally around 79 degrees. No tank mates. Thanks (:

google lymphocystis and compare the images. I'm thinking that might be what you have. If it is. Then clean warm water is all you can do. Generally not fatal.
