Heater for a 1gallon?

What is the best type of heater for a 1 gallon tank? I already have a nice filter. I'll be upgrading my baby later to a 3-5 gallon, but for now I want to know what kind of heater would be good for a 1 gallon?

I use this heater for my 1.5g cube:

Any-who if you have that tank empty you can try to get a 25 watt adjustable heater and use a thermometer to find the level that will be best since it is a little too much power for that volume of water. The heater I use generally raises the water 5-10 degrees higher than room temp so you need to keep an eye on that, if the room temp goes over 75*F then you need to unplug otherwise it gets to about 80-82ish. Also don't be confused amazons lists it as a 15 watt but generally whats on the packaging is the actual strength/wattage which in this case is 7.5 watts.

No, you don't want to use a reptile under tank heater. They're not made to be used for water applications or acrylic tanks. There are several small heaters sold at PetSmart, Petco, and the good local fish stores. Get one that says on the packaging that it's for use in your size tank.

There's a new one I found from Cobalt that's only 5 watts & rated for 1 gallon tanks.

Whatever heater you choose to buy is up to you, but before you make a purchase I cannot tell you enough how useful Google can be. Search up the product you have in mind and see what reviews it gets, if it doesn't have at least a 70% positive review I would be wary.

Thank you everyone, I purchased a really nice 1.5 gallon and a nice heater to go with it. Now I just have to hide all the supplies until Dei Vallie (Our new betta, coming from Austin) gets here. He's a surprise for my boyfriend :))

I use these mini heaters here for my 1.75g kritter keepers.. they are adjustable and work great - not too big. The 25w would work for the 1g, and the new 3g... could also use the 50w which would work good with a 5g if you get that instead.
