Is this fin rot?

Today I picked up a really active guy at Petco! I got him home and noticed him laying on his side. Freaked me out. Left him alone and he is active yet again. But then I noticed his one fin is much smaller than the other and looks torn. He couldn't have done this himself, right? I just need to know if I can put him in his new bigger, nicer home yet or if he needs treated first.

He looks like a delta-doubletail elephant ear betta

I have seen that color a lot at my petco, they must all be related! With flowing fins like that you have to expect some damage and splitting during his life so I vote NOT fin rot.

He is gorgeous!

Thanks. I was really worried when I got home and noticed it. =/ He was labelled a delta tail. He is VERY active! Haha. That's what caught my eye about him. There were many pretty bettas there today, but he was the most active!
