Thank you :) the new one, whom I've decided to name Bahari, is awfully aggressive, lol. He spends a lot of his time attacking the side of the tank and flaring at everything. Of course he likes me at feeding time. I'm hoping he'll calm down a little after he has more time to get used to his new home.
From what I know and read, he's most likely just claiming his territory. Phy does it for hours sometimes, especially right now when there's nothing in his tank but him >.< S'why I usually have plants against the sides so he's not so apt to stress himself being the 'king of the tank'
Haha, so I shouldn't expect him to stop anytime soon? I just don't want him to hurt himself. He seems to stay away from his plants and near the top near side of the tank, usually in the right corner....
Phy focussed on the back right corner of the 10g the first time I tried putting him in there. For 3 hours. I eventually put a towel over the tank so he'd rest and he didn't do it as much the next day. But you can try putting your hand where he's flaring and see if it stops him. But yea, added a background behind my 10g to make Phy do it less. Hopefully the halfmoon I'll get won't be as agressive. be nice to have a calmer betta in the group.
Yeah, DaBaDee is very excitable but he isn't aggressive. He also likes the top right front corner of the tank, which is somewhat strange... I've also never seen Bahari use either of the little caves I provided for him because honestly I never see him near the bottom of the tank.
Some bettas take some time to get used to it. I mean he did just get moved from a cup to a mansion. Give it a few more days and he should settle. Worst case scenerio you may have to go a little smaller, but so long as he's active and bright I think he should be fine.
