Vardaman's Gimpy Fin

Hey guys! I just wanted to double check with everyone here to see if I am doing what is best. Now I don't know why Vardaman's fin is all torn up. I'm assuming another betta did it before they separated them because I got him from the store this way. My plan is to change his water every other day to try and keep it as clean as possible. I will be doing a 50% water change. Is this the right thing to do to help his fin grow back?

Yes, warm, clean water is the best thing to do. You can add aquarium salt per the directions on the package to help speed it up and prevent infection, but only use it for 10 days. If you do use it, I believe you're supposed to do water changes daily, and only replace the amount you took out. (I've never used it, so I don't have any personal experience with it, but a lot of people here have, so I've read a lot about it.)
