Unhappy Aggresive fin rot.. D; HELP!

Hello guys. I have a betta in a 3 gallon aquarium and he has been doing well for the last 2 months. Anyway, i woke up this morning and i found his tail a little nipped. But i didnt pay much attention. I went out and when i returned, about 6 hours later, almost half of his tail was missing... It is surely fin rot. I have some Myxazin and Salt. (i dont know what kind of salt it is, it is just Pure Sodium Chloride without anny iodine or additives). I did a 100% water change and i bathed my betta in salt solution (3% i think). Anyway i have him now back in the planted aquarium with Myxazin. I am not using any salt in the aquarium though, because i dont know if my plants tolerate salt. The plants got cleaned like the rest of the tank. My little betta seems to be behaving well. He eats normally and swims like nothing is wrong. I have to admit that i didnt take proper care of the water quality for a while (about 6 days i think) because i had a very stressful schedule and i was not home for a long time. Anyway, what can i do? And even if i kill the bacteria and my betta is cured, will its tail grow back? how long will it take? Please help.. And thanks in advance....

Does your tank have a filter? Had a home made sponge filter, not anymore
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? Airstone
Is your tank heated? Yes
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? Lives with 2 Zebra Snails, i moved them though

What type of food do you feed your betta fish? Flakes and some bloodworms.
How often do you feed your betta fish? 3 times a day, about 3 flakes or 1 bloodworm. (i kinda overdid it last week)

Maintenance

How often do you perform a water change? Usually every 2 days almost 50% (maybe more)

Sorry, no water parameters... dont have a kit to measure stuff... :(

Pellets are better than flakes.. and bloodworms should only be given as a treat once per week. (you can give more than one.)

I have a block on my computer where I can't see the pictures, but to answer your question. The tail will grow back, and every betta is different with healing. One of my girls got her tail nipped and it was back the next day. It varies.

Could it be my zebra nerite snails that i added? or a new plant maybe? i forgot to add Myxazin when i introduced them in the aquarium and i suppose that is maybe where i could have gotten it too... Should i add the snails back in the aquarium? My betta seems to gotten darker which i think it is a good sign. He is even more healthier... Could be just of the poor water quality... tap water isnt the best where i live too...

The meds you are using are making your fish worse than better. Do you have water conditioner?

He could also have been biting his tail for some reason too.

I think if you add one snail it may keep him busy.

Oh you may be right about the tail... It's been a day that he has been flaring to "nothing". And I suppose keeping him busy is a good or bad thing?
