My boy and I have been recently looking for a new place to rent. We have found two places we are thrilled to look at but are not planing on moving until next month. I have run into the question of what way will be best to move my fish. I CURRENTLY have 4 male betta, 2 female, 6 guppies(one of which is expecting), 7 tetras, 2 angel, 3 rainbow sharks, 3 groumis, one goldfish, and one plecostomus. We were recently in a pet store and saw 3 male bettas that really stood out to us and its likley we may get one or two of them. How would you guys suggest moving all of them.

Well… if you cup each on individually you can but them in a plastics tub from Walmart. Lay a towel down in the bottom and place each cup about 2 inches apart. Fill in the space with towels. Or styrofoam.

Plastic bags. Clear plastic bags like they use at petsmart or LFS's. I double bagged each girl individually for the ride. Put them in seperate individual opaque plastic bags (note, paper would work as well!). And I carried them in various containers. A rubber maid tub would work.

Once at my new place I spent some time acclimating them to the new water.

Not sure what to suggest about the fry however

I like the idea of bagging them just like if they were being shipped. I might use that idea myself when I move.

You have to make sure there is air in there so the bettas can breathe

That's not hard to leave air. Even if you leave one of those bags half full with water (which is like 3-4 times what is in a cup), there is still plenty of room for air for them. I've seen how they ship bettas, there is barely any air in those tiny packets. I do it just they way I bring home fish from the store. In a bag with water and lots of air.
