So, unfortunately I lost several of my favorite veil tails that I've had since last summer due to not proper quarantine (some lessons are learned the hard way) and it's been a really tough time missing them :( The 20 gallon is under intensive treatment right now- but I've thrown myself into care of my latest rescues:
Finnick- an impulse Petsmart buy- labeled as a dragon scale *snort*. After losing my beautiful Kaiju and only crown tail I snagged him. He has a hard time swimming, is super thin, but he eats ok and is in a 15 gallon plant tank right now by himself
I keep an eye on my favorite petcos fish cause I like them and some have been there since early December. Since they were having that huge sale I decided if one of my 'friends' didn't get adopted over the weekend is bring one home. I saw this guy a week before the sale and though he was on his way out:
So imagine my immense SUPRISE when he was STILL there a week later! He danced and me and the deal was sealed.
The cashier looked at me all odd when I said I made a promise haha
His tails are too small for his body and he can barely get to the surface, even in a shallow tank- but he tries SUPeR hard, eats great and likes to rest against things and in his tunnel:
He sits like in those first two pics most of the time, like he can't support his own size- I'm fully prepared to design a shallow tank for him with lots of ledges and he is named Julius Ceasar haha
And so there is some happy:
This is Darwin, an EE that the pet care manager basically gave me because he had already written him off for dead:
He has an extra growth over one eye, a bent back/caudal fin and couldn't do anything but bob at the surface sideways.
Now a few weeks later:
He still swims off a bit but he can use his whole tank and is my desk buddy. He's even started flaring! So attached to him :)
