Can someone tell me what type of snails these are? They must have come in with my plants.

If they came in with your plants watch out, snails are known to be very prolific breeders and can invade a tank really quickly, if you want to keep them it's fine but if you want to rid of them before they become too many you should quickly get in motion before it's crazy snail town.

As for their type I do not know, all I know is that, snails with plants = infested tank most of the time.

If I see any more than 2 then it's on but curious to see what they turn out to be..These 2 are fine, any more will be goners.

Looks like pond/bladder snails.
I had a couple (that I've found) hitch rides on my plants too.

Those 2 look like pond snails to me. The baby snails are the size of brine shrimp eggs or poppy seeds. I have 50-75 baby snails in my fry tank.

I don't mind snails at all because they eat the algae on my LIVE plants.

Also if I get annoyed with the amount of snails, I let the more established bettas loose. Mine will stalk and rip them out of the shells.

Even my watermelon seed sized bettas will HUNT & eat little snails.

Mine is ignoring them..Even when I told him to attack he wont.. Guess a mellow betta is good for some things and bad for others.

If you want to get rid of them you can put lettuce in or get some of the stuff that'll get rid of alger in your tank. I love my snails though, have a huge algae problem and they take care of it fairly we'll, I wouldn't mine having more honestly and I already have god knows how many

I'll see what happens..I did miss having a snail when Speedy my mystery snail died so I'll keep these unless things get over run then I'll need some serious help.

we keep the pond snails in our sorority tank in check by having what we call "snail-o-causts." whenever there's a good amount on the front glass at the water line, we crush them with our fingertips, and then the girls eat them as they fall down. every time we open the hatch, they all line up in anticipation of their escargot snack.

Good idea.. A snack for the betta and also a message to the other snails. ;)
