Did the pet store give you any numbers or did they just say, "yeah the water's good"? You should ask for specific numbers.

She didnt give me the numbers but I trust her. She is very picky about water and she thought the water was the problem and told me to let her check it. As for the temp in the tank it is 79- 80 at a constant. I have been checking temp also.
Syd has had no health problems at all and nothing has been added to the tank that I havent used in it for over a year.
Water changes are like clockwork. Nothing has changed . He is just staying at the top constantly and he looks like he is gulping air

My fish do that, too. Most bettas spend a lot of time at the water surface to stay close to
air, but I would also be worried about anything unusual with my own fish. It's hard to pinpoint problems when the only sympom is lethargy so I'm not much help. Sometimes they just are weird. The temp is perfect, though. Watch him very, very closely for any other signs.

No, it not a bubble nest. This is totaly different. Believe me, he makes bubble nest alot and this is different. He is a people fish and now he wont look my way. I have trid for 2 days to feed him but he wont budge. He has been in the same place as in the pic for 2 days now. When I changed his water he just moved to the side and after I put the water back in, he went right back to the top and has been there ever since.
