Crazy Kelso

My veiltail has gone NUTS!!! I have no clue what it causing it. He has been the only betta in the 29 gallon tank. Yeah there are non fancy guppies in there, males mostly. But kelso never minded them until now. He does not attack the longer finned variety, he attacks my short finned guppies that were hard to breed. I am trying to breed blonde short tailed guppies to keep with bettas but Kelso is hindering that when he eats the daddies! I do know that he has fought the Rosey Reds before, but he quit that. Please help!

***The temp. is at 77*F
***The water params are just fine, had them professionally checked last week.
***Tank mates: 20 male blonde short finned guppies, 5 jet black tuxedo long finned male guppies, 3 rosey red minnows that need to be moved.
***Has never been sick
***Generaly friendly until now, playing with the guppies every now and again.

Please help, he is in a time out right now.

I would get him his own 5g tank. Bettas can be fine for long periods of time & then decide they don't want to play nice any longer.

Well, thank you, I thought about switching Red, male betta, and Kelso. So that Red will be in the 29 gallon and Kelso will be in the 10 gallon. but Red loves the 10 gallon with a passion. He used to be all gothic and never move around, now he is very active. I cannot punnish Red whenI know that he hates the 29 gallon. Thank you for the response!

Can you get another tank just for Kelso instead of switching out the two fish?

I could but $$$ is rather short right now, he is time outing in the cup he came in... not the prefered choice, but the only one for now. Thinking about devidint the 10 gallon and the 29 gallon. (3 divisions in the 29, 2 in the 10.)
