Help... Need Opinion(s)

I got Sharkbait, a new and bigger aquarium. How do I tell if the filter is too powerful for him?

If he is being blown around or his fins are rippling more than they normally do, then the filter is too powerful. Also if you find him putting more effort into swimming then that can be a sign that the current in the water is too strong.
Thankfully, most filters can be easily baffled and I believe there are some tutorials floating around on this forum on how to do this.

There are places in his tank where the current is not a bother, but he always swims near the current. I am not sure why. Silly. I was thinking of getting an new one that people recommended with the tank.

Hmm.. if he has places to hide or get away from the current then I don't think there's any harm.. he's probably just playing

I use a plastic bottle for my larger filter but for my 10 gallon there is nothing to tape the bottle onto so I just made one out of K'nex. It works great, and every now and then, one of bettas manages to make a bubblenest with some help from a styrofoam cup.
