Talking I totally re-scaped Magikarp's 5G

I've been thinking about doing this for quite some time... and finally manned up and did it yesterday!

I took Magikarp's tank from this, which was nice.. but I felt it was too cluttered. That anubias took up much of his swimming space so I moved it to my 29G.

Now he has this, I took a smaller slab of wood from my 29G as well as a crypt plant, I also got rid of the java fern and put it in my 29G. Now he has MUCH more room to swim. I also added more gravel because it was a little low before. I've very happy with the results!

Wow. Your tank in gorgeous! When I get a 5 gal for my betta, I want to do something like that. Just out of curiousity, what wattage in your bulb? I don't think mine are cutting it for my red ludwigia plant, which looks healthy in your tank!

Thanks! :)

I use this bulb, I've had these plants since they were about 1-2 inch tall and in a few months they've grown quite a bit.

That last pic looks like he's thinking "For me?"

Looks good though. I am sure he will love the extra room.

He's been in this tank for about 5 months or so... and he never really swam around until I took out the bulk of the plants I had in there. Added bonus: my 29G has a new centerpiece.

Wow, looking great! I'm impressed with the red - is it a type of crypt?

What is your lighting situation?

Do you just use root tabs?

For lighting I use this: http://www.google.com/aclk?sa=L&ai=C...oomed+ultrasun

And I do have root tabs but haven't used them in this tank yet... I think I'll throw some in when I do my next water change. I do use liquid ferts about once a week, I use Kent iron and manganese.
