One very aggressive female just introduced to new tank mates

Well I just put my 4 Betta females in the tank together and I can definitely tell after watching them for 30 minutes who is the dominant one. Ruby definitely is dominant as she is the most aggressive and keeps going after all the other 3 females. Pictures are below of what Ruby, Ariel, Emerald, and Sapphire look like.

One will try to be dominant over the others - it will take a bit of time before they calm down, but they should. Just keep an eye on them and if Ruby seems to be attacking non stop, then you may have to replace her. It can be a pain trying to get the right mix when purchasing from pet stores, and with each their own "personality" you never know what you are going to get.

Ariel (? the second girl) looks to have some fin rot starting on the point of her anal fin - keep an eye on it, clean water will help it but if it starts getting worse you may need to do AQ salt treatment for it. But a lot of times just making sure the water is clean will take care of it.

I started noticing that on Ariel and Emerald as well. They have been getting better though. This is brand new water in the 10 gallon tank. They should be okay. They have healed a lot though. Ariel also has it on her bottom fins that ones that go up and down on their belly. Sorry my fish vocabulary would be better but I am still new at this but you know that Myates

You are doing great :) That looks like a great home for the girls - plenty of coverage for them to hide in. If you want, you could possibly get a few platies (1 male per 2 female) or some cory doras for the bottom :)

Just keep an eye on the fins and if they get worse, let us know and we can help get them healed.

its fine. They wont recognise them as the same species

pretty girls!! I love the first one!
In my sorority my red cambodian girl is the dominant one, guards the breeders net where I have one of my males temporarily and wont let any of the other girls near him its so funny!
