Well my $50 shipment from aquariumplants.com just came in..

I ordered two XXL moss balls and a few bunches of anacharis..

Most of the Anacharis is black :( There are a few really healthy looking green stems but overall I'm worried they're not going to bounce back. Maybe they got too cold in the 48 hours of shipping?

The moss balls.. Well one has a giant hole in it and inside is totally hollow.. a bunch of rotting brown mess is inside. In fact they turned my 1 gallon quarantine bowl OPAQUE BROWN. The other ball doesn't have a hole but it's also hollow. There are lots of brown dead spots on outside of it too... I can squish to about half its size. Is this normal? I've only had smaller 1-2" balls before and they are not hollow.

I'm thinking I'm looking for a different place to buy plants..

Well good to know. I chose them because of their variety and had really big moss balls which I wanted to try. My biggest one is maybe an inch and a half but it's really healthy and dense. IDK maybe I just killed a super old giant.. I hope not.. maybe it was cold.. :( I'm just frustrated. Every time I do something new with fish I feel cursed, so it's a good thing I don't believe in such a thing LOL I've gone through my 4th bad filter motor now too! Setting up a 10 gallon tank really shouldn't be this hard :S
