Gave into the baby betta craze

Couldn't help myself! It was so cute!! I got a .75 gallon critter keeper and heater to keep it in till he/she grows up a little bit and some hikari first bites to eat. I also have some frozen bloodworms, live micro and banana worm cultures, and bbs eggs I can hatch if need be.
I feel like I know enough from researching and trying to spawn my own pairs to keep him/her alive successfully but I'm open to suggestions if anyone wants to give me ideas on how to care for it best!

I should ask if I can put her in a 1/3 gallon breeder net in my sorority tank. My heater just broke and the spare is in that tank...would this be an issue?

The only issue I see is that you'd potentially be exposing your sorority to possible disease since you aren't quarantining her first.

As long as you know about the frequent water changes and feeding several times a day, you're fabulous. Your baby is so cute!

I am just (hopefully) finishing off shipping of my batch of baby bettas...they have been so fun to keep, even for the short time I had them. I am keeping two of the babies, and I think those two issues I mentioned are the most important, at least for me.

Thanks for the replies! I'm starting to think that it might be a crown tail double tail, I see spikes coming off every fun. Hoping it's a male but happy with either.

I really just don't know what else to do till I get a replacement heater, I don't get paid for another week and so I can't afford to replace it right now. Normally I have some males in my extra 10 gallon (divided in bowls) but now that that heaters broke my only option is either to put it in the sorority in a breeder net or keep her not heated at 75*

not ideal,but you could float her in a cup until qt is over. he/she looks pretty small.

I personally think you could float him/her. Just be careful so the females will not get in.

Yeah, floating would work but I feel bad to give her do little room. But if that seems to be the best idea how long should I QT since its so small could I do less time?
