Question betta fish bamboo question

as you can see in the picture i have a piece of potted bamboo that ive had for a long time. the pot is filled with rocks and styrofoam. would i be able to put this bamboo in my tank with my girl? either put the whole pot in (after cleaning it obviously) or i could take it out of the pot and attempt to plant it / find a new option. any opinions on this?

It could grow bare root but it would have to have leaves in air.

ahhh okay, so you just have it right next to the filter. do you have it attached in any way? or should it just sit there?

It sits there. If you cut off a small stem you can grow it in the filter.

I would place the plant in a thing of clean water for a bit.
